Use More Brain While Buying A Used Muscle Car

If you are looking for a used muscle car, there are some factors you should know and consider. You need to critically examine the muscle car's exterior paint its transmission and history as well.

A muscle car is a a high performance automobile. American muscle cars are loved by drivers for the pure raw power they generate, and yes their stunning beauty. The older the year of make, the rarer and more unique is your muscle car. From the Hudson Hornet to the 1957 Rambler Rebel to the 1970 Plymouth GTX 440 and so on, a muscle car is an owner's pride and a collector's delight. Although there has been a decline in production of the muscle cars in the 1990s, there has also been revival of the muscle cars from time to time. The latest could be Dodge's Charger model re-introduced in 2010 and again in 2011.

If you are looking for a used muscle car for your love of the original or financial limitations, there are some factors you should know and consider. Some recommend that you should have some mechanical skills if you want to buy and own a muscle car. However, with a little deeper look you can make a sound decision to buy or not to buy the vehicle. With "a little deeper look" it means every information possibly available about the car including its VIN, transmission codes, rear end, paint, interior codes, age, number of owners, mileage and any changes made and so on.

Go deeper than the paint, dig up the past!

Naive buyers are easily carried away by the exterior paint while for a smart one that is just where you start looking. There are really good paint job service providers that can easily let you get the impression they want you to. You have to be more than an admirer in such situations. Be like a jealous lover and dig up the past and every minute details. Make sure you get the VIN or Vehicle Identification Number of the vehicle. By knowing the car's VIN, you can get an ample amount of the car's history that can help you decide and deal better with the whole purchase.

Get under the hood

If you have a good knowledge of the particular car model, get under the hood and check the engine, oil level and condition, leaks, engine noises, smoke etc. You can also bring along a friend who has a better idea in case you are not so confident. Get inside the car and inspect the interiors including the seats, seat belts, the doors and trunk too. Start the engine and check if the transmission of the car is still smooth. While at it, take a look at the dashboard and all the gauges as well.

Check how long has it run

It is also good to find out how many number of owners have the car served and how have they treated it. The car's mileage will help you determine how further can it go in future, you don't want an overdriven muscle car. However, while doing the math here, remember that mileage limit could differ from car to car. If there have been any changes made or parts replaced under the hood, find out what exactly it is and check if the alterations were made correctly.

Take it for a spin

Test driving is a good way to find out how exactly the muscle car performs on the road. While taking it for a spin, try and notice any suspicious signs with everything you come into contact with such as the acceleration, braking and suspension etc. If you are satisfied with them all, proceed to the final stage of the deal - the payment. If you are buying the car directly from the owner, see if the price is negotiable. If you found the muscle car via online ads or at a website listing for affordable used cars, see if the listed price, after the vehicle's analysis, is still practical. Decide keeping in mind that a bad judgment could put your money and also your safety at risk.

The Story of the Chevrolet Camaro

The Story of the Chevrolet Camaro

Author: Jake Dean

The Chevrolet Camaro first hit the market in the USA in 1966. General Motors, Chevrolet's owners, had to build a vehicle to provide much needed competition to the sector dominating Ford Mustang. The 1967 Camaro shared a frame and many main components with the Pontiac Firebird (one more General Motors project), and so the speed and money required to make the car were greatly reduced.

Called a a muscle car, or a 'Pony' vehicle, a name which referred to small cars that were both affordable and had a sports feel about their styling (a trend started by the Ford Mustang in 1964), the Camaro lined up next to an ever growing pool of cars that were fighting for an ever growing market. US buyers loved the engine, the styling and the low cost of such vehicles and the growing sales guaranteed that many manufacturers built their own variations out as quickly they could.
The 1970's and 80's saw the Camaro's height, when the Camaro was dreamed of by millions of car enthusiasts, not only in the USA but across the world. The balance of looks, speed and popular TV shows using pony cars contributed to a strong market, and the desire for buyers to own one never disappeared.
There were five individual generations of the car have been built. Generations one to four were developed between 1966 and 2002 (when selling of the Camaro and Firebird both ceased), and development of the fifth generation Camaro started again in 2009 and despite opposition to these environmentally unfriendly muscle vehicles from green campaigners, the Camaro has proved itself to once again be a big success with the North American public.
The car has a large group of fans with some owners having owned every version of the car at one time or another and others hanging on to original 1960's versions and keeping them in perfect condition.
The Camaro has been a favourite vehicle for improving through the cars lifetime, with owners spending time and cash adding aftermarket additions to improve their Camaro's style and power. Camaro's have been hugely strong in racing winning many Trans-Am series wins and lots other races and championships through its lifetime. Many racers still use older Camaro's these days and are still successful, often winning when against much more modern race cars.
The Camaro is still going strong today, and with its legendary status, power and eye catching looks from the fifth model, the Camaro is bound to be with us for many years to come.

The Shelby Cobra - muscle car history

The Shelby Cobra

Author: William Jason

Shelby Cobra is one of the rarest and most expensive cars that was ever sold in the US. In fact just recently, one of them was sold for $5.5 million, a new record for all the auctioned cars in the world. This car has really amazed a lot of car aficionados because of its special features and classic design. Some enthusiasts believe that it should be the American muscle car of all time. But not all experts agreed.

Carroll Shelby was the main mastermind behind this elegant automobile. His first race took place in 1958 followed by his final race shortly after that. He was forced to retire due to heart problems he thought he can handle even when racing. Unfortunately it was not safe for him to drive with this type of condition. But this ailment didn't stop him from being involved with cars. After retiring, he became a car constructor with various companies. Even today, he owns a website where his merchandise can be found and his company's history.

What I find so fascinating about Mr. Shelby, is the fact that he had such little exposure to the racetrack, but was able to build such a beastly vehicle, that could beat any car put up against it. There is only one reason behind this success and that would be his passion for racing. To me he is the type of guy that has no quit in him, just like his vehicle.

Going back to the Shelby Cobra model, this car had almost 500 horsepower. It weighed approximately 2,550 pounds and had a three speed automatic transmission. It could go for an estimated 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. Apart from these facts, many people have also stated that this model was one of Ford's best Mustangs.

Another interesting fact is that a Shelby Cobra chassis alone can go for tens of thousands of dollars. Just recently on the popular TV show, Pawn Stars, an original Cobra chassis sold for $30,000! Then to have the car rebuild it cost another $50,000.

This alone should give you a very good idea of the value of this car, and how much it is sought after.

Purchasing a Classic Car – A Wise Decision or Not?

Author: William Jason

Classic cars have become extremely popular over the last decade. These cars are timeless and beautiful. They transport you back to a certain place in time when life was much more laid back. You may remember having your first Beetle ride with your grandparents or sharing that first kiss in your father's Mustang. Aside from the classic car's timeless charm, here are a few good reasons one of these beauties.

Most cars are liabilities, but a classic car can serve as an asset. Invest in the right model, and you will see the value of your car increase as time goes by. This has held true for almost every model that is in near mint, to mint condition. Even models that need work, such a rare Superbird can fetch unreal prices because of their demand. All in all, the higher the demand for your car and the condition of it will ultimately determine its value.

Keep in mind that the maintenance of your classic will be expensive if the parts are imports or hard to come by. So you will need to do this research beforehand, so that there are no surprises after your purchase it. Sometimes just finding a single part can be a real test of patience and determination, and it isn't always going to be easy on your wallet.

Another advantage to owning these types of vehicles is that you will meet others who share your passion for this hobby. You can exchange advice, information and history with them! You can even go the extra mile and join classic car owners clubs. It's nice to mingle with fellow classic car owners so you can gain access to information, tools and parts more easily.

You will find that many people who attend car cruises and car swaps are extremely nice and always willing to share their stories and educate a newbie about the hobby. I have personally learned a lot from many of these people and I know you will also.

America's love affair with the Classic Corvette

Author: Lisa Roduner

The Corvette is easily one of the most famous and desired sports cars in America today. No matter whether it's because of its wide range of curves, its large amounts of horsepower, or its superb handling, it is undoubtedly one of the best known sports cars in the United States.

One of the primary causes for this is because of the basic truth that it is manufactured in the USA. A lot of automobiles on the highways right now are built overseas, causing many people to really feel partial towards cars that were built in America. And not solely because of that, it initially came out in the 1950's creating large nostalgic feelings towards the Corvette . It's difficult to believe it was almost cut from Chevy's production schedule in the 50's as far more of an exhibit car than a real performance car. Fortunately it didn't, as not many car makes and models can endure more than 50 years and still be this admired. In fact, in 2003 the Chevy Corvette became the one American sports car to have lasted 50 years. That is a rather extraordinary achievement.

In 1953, the original Corvette off the line laid claim to a huge 150 horsepower. Nowadays, you can get a Corvette with a bare minimum of 400 HP, going as much as 500-700 HP with the Z06 and ZR1 models. The Chevy Corvette has often been identified as one of the racier production cars available. In contrast to other fast cars like the Ferrari or Porsche, the Corvette isn't particularly expensive. Its cost-speed ratio is particularly small, which makes it one of the quickest cars for the selling price. Due to this, this car symbolizes the American Dream really quite well. The ordinary hard-working individual can, if they save up, afford a Corvette.

The Chevy Corvette is so well-liked in the States due to the fact it, in some ways, reminds you of America in itself. It has continued for a prolonged period of time, it looks great, and is really quite reasonably priced. America's love affair with the Corvette has continued for the past 50 years and a slow down is nowhere in sight.

Rat Rod Versus Hot Rod and Yes There is a Difference

While there should not be any confusion between a true rat rod and a hot rod there seems to be many who are getting them mixed up. Within the hot rod crowd even mentioning the word RAT in their circle is a big no no for many reasons but mostly because the hot rodder group tend to have a higher end taste than most rat rodders do in general.

A ratrod in general has many qualities that are exactly opposite of what a true hotrod should have and many works in progress tend to be generalized as a rat car or rat truck for one reason or another. You can tell for the most part the subtle differences between a work in progress muscle car styled hot rod versus rat rods and it lies mainly in the details of the work.
No matter which scene you might be in or thinking of joining there will always be those who dislike another style of rod just like those who have an issue with ford or chevy. In the scene many people will brand their identity to the make, model or style of their ride and those who trash talk others are mainly doing it out of fear, embarrassment or their own insecurities and nothing more.
Throwing around the rat rod word in a hot rodders backyard can end up in an arguement even though we all can agree with how childish that may seem but to those who take their cars, their scene and their rods seriously, it is a big deal and you should at least be aware of what words come out of your mouth and when.
You can search for both rod types whether rat or hot through any search engine and don't forget to do an image search as well. See how many you know as a true rat or if it is a project vehicle on its way into the hot rod hall of fame. Don't let price fool you because you can drop a decent amount in either scene depending on what frame and model you start with as well as what stage of completion the ride is in.

1969 Plymouth Roadrunner

Let's face it, the 1969 Roadrunner - which had its debut in 1968 as a performance car - was nothing more than a muscle car that was more muscle than it was car. In a straight line, the Roadrunner could beat anything on the road, but, if you tried any real handling, you'd soon find the front-engine/rear-drive box on wheels wouldn't do very much but slip through a turn or corner but it took very practiced hand/foot coordination to achieve that kind of handling. Most of the time, if  you didn't have the training you'd end up spewing dirt, rocks, grass and whatever in a huge circle as the front end tightened up and you ended up in a huge circle.

The 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner, based on Chrysler's B-Body, was pleasant enough to look at. There was a bright surround to a blacked out grille and there were quad headlights up front. The front end was pretty blunt, although it did have a small reverse V in the middle for some style.

Shaped Hood
The hood, which was drop-forged to make room for the engine extras you might want to bolt on, was pretty straight and while the fenders were pleasantly rounded, they were pretty much devoid of any styling other than something that said power. Perhaps the most noticeable note was the rear end that was finished in those two reversed taillights at the corners.  The roof did have some roundness to it and the rear window did rake toward the rear decklid, but that was still straight with a bright center and overhang.

The overriding piece about the 1969 Roadrunner - rumored to be the favorite of moonshiners and others who needed speed - was still its plainness. If it wasn't needed, you wouldn't find it. For example, the one option you would find was either a four-speed with its pistol-grip-style shifter or the console carrying the automatic transmission.

The base engine was the 383 that, when equipped with the right head, intake, cams and exhaust would honk along at up to 400-cubic-inches, that easily cranked 335 horsepower was more likely what you'd find.

Few options
With a three-spoke steering wheel and a single-oval instrument panel where you'd find everything from the tach to the ammeter, plus some switches on a panel below, you can tell the Roadrunner (and its Dodge cousin the SuperBee) were engineered for those who "feel the need for speed."

One last note, these cars were so well made there are still lots of them on the road today.

Vin Decoder for Classic Mustangs - The Key to Finding the Correct Mustang Parts

You have decided to restore your classic Mustang, or research one to restore, but how do you find out what Mustang parts your particular pony car rolled off the line with? Knowing the vehicle identification number – the VIN will guide you in discovering what was installed on your Mustang when it was brand new. Since we are only talking about restoring a classic Mustang, these codes will only cover what are considered the first generation Mustangs, 1965-1973.

Finding the VIN plate is the first step. The first two year models have the VIN under the hood on the edge of the driver side fender, 1968 models display the VIN at the base of the front windshield where it meets the dash on the passenger side while later models display the VIN on the driver side. The VIN plate may also be riveted to the jamb of the driver side door. Note that you may not find the original data plate, reasons for this could include cases where the door has been previously swapped out, the plate was removed or lost over the years.

The VIN decode follows a basic standard. From left to right the first digit is the last digit of the model year, the code for the assembly plant (1 digit), body style (2 digits), engine code (1 digit), followed by the consecutive unit number. Each model year has some variation on the Mustang parts; the model years are decoded below.

The data plate holds a plethora of information. If you can find the original one for your Mustang you can determine the original color, trim style, the date it was manufactured, District Sales Office number, rear axle identification, and transmission. If the data plate VIN info is different than the VIN plate on the fender or windshield, you'll need to investigate further. Search online for Mustang VIN and data plate decoders to help you decipher the information for your classic Mustang.
Happy Hunting!

The Huge Success of the 1990 Corvette ZR1

With the new decade of the 1990s just around the corner everyone who was in love with the Corvette were caught up in rumors and speculation. One thing that was known for sure was that Dave McLellen and his crew had something up their sleeves, but what?

Before anyone could blink blurry espionage photos began to surface of something high-powered being developed. Chevy played it cool and took the political approach neither confirming nor denying anything. Then the rumors got a dose of reality.

In the 1989 Geneva Auto Show the Corvette ZR1 officially made its debut much to the delight of both the fans and the media. The model quickly took on the nickname "King of the Hill" and it left everyone waiting with bated breath for its release.

This was for good reason. The Corvette and the rest of the auto industry was coming out of a decade that saw engines get less horsepower due to the ever increasing regulations set forth by the Government. The 1990 Corvette ZR1 with its all new LT5 engine that would pound out 375 horsepower was a big deal at the time.
The engine was actually a collaboration of Lotus and GM and it was built by Mercury Marine. The all-aluminum engine was refined and smooth and even claimed that a nickel placed on the top of the LT5 would stay still when it fired up. Many took the challenge and reported it to be true.

But speed was not the only thing to change with the Corvette ZR1. While the outside of the body was not too dissimilar from the standard Vettes of 1990, the tail lights were a dead giveaway. On the ZR1 the tail lights were square and this became the standard for all Vettes in 1991. What couldn't be seen by the naked eye was the fact that the ZR1 was actually longer and wider (although only a couple of inches) because of special tires and wheels that came with the new super Vette.

The suspension was a total upgrade as well with traction control and other goodies added. This lead many to claim that the Corvette ZR1 was now among the best handling and performing cars in the world, not just the US. In fact Car and Driver lovingly dubbed it the "Corvette from Hell."

The ZR1 package added an extra $27,000 plus to the already high price tag of the Corvette but that didn't seem to bother many people. In fact, the 1990 ZR1 sold 3,044 units and this represented nearly half of all the units that Chevy would sell in the ZR1's six model year run (1990-1995).

In 1990 it was not only acceptable to pay the extra $27,000 for the package, but many who had saved their money and didn't make it high enough on the waiting list would end up paying nearly double the price just to acquire a Corvette ZR1. This was a trend that would not be repeated again in the ZR1's first run.

Today the 1990 ZR1 continues to be a well sought after Corvette. Perhaps it is because of what it represented at the time. Perhaps it is what it lead to some 19 years later when Chevy would reintroduce the ZR1 in 2009. Whatever the reason, the 1990 Corvette ZR1 was then and will forever be the King of the Hill.

Car Restoration: Muscle Car Restoration Are You Ready To Go Down That Road

Are you thinking about restoring a car, it's a long road to nowhere if you don't plan what you want your car to be first. I don't want to scare anybody from restoring their car, but it's a long process, if it's not done right car restoration can be agony on your, and the shop.

You need to know if your going to customize the car, or if it's going to be a factory stock restoration. I've seen a lot of people restore their cars to factory specs, only to discover that it's not what they wanted.

A factory stock restoration is just that, you get new old car, that has the old brakes, and old style engine, and all of the rest of the old stuff. This means that the car doesn't stop like the cars of today do, nor is it emission compliant.

You need to consider all of these things before you decide to do a factory stock muscle car restoration. If you upgrade braking systems to the newest, and best systems that you can get, your car will stop a lot better.

With one of the new create engines, you can get all of the power that you need, and still comply with the emission laws in your state. The other advantage is the fact that all create engines come with a factory warranty, this is a great thing for the customer of the shop.

You should always keep the parts that you take off the car in case you want to return it to factory stock condition. The car is worth more money if it's returned to factory stock condition, but most people don't plan to sell their restored cars, and we all love our toys.

If your a collector who's in the business to retain a profit on your classic cars, it is always better to keep the car as factory stock as possible. Car restoration is fun, it doesn't matter what you plan to do with the car when it's done, the key factor of classic cars is to have fun with them.

In this way it doesn't matter if your a collector, a hot rodder, or just a person who loves the classic cars; all that matters is that you get what you want when the car is done. The American Muscle cars

The first Ford Mustang went on the market in April of 1964, marketed as "the car designed by you". These models have 1965 VIN's and many debate what to call this pony car - the 1964 ½ or 1965 model. Mustang lovers would recognize the difference. The first Mustang was equipped with a generator and 260 cubic inch V8 engine. This changed in 1965 when alternators replaced generators and the V8 was upgraded to 289 cubic inches. You could order your Mustang as plain, fast, fancy and/or economical as you wanted.

From its inception to present, the Mustang has won many racing championships. Cosmetic features were enhanced in 1966. The first major redesign took place in 1967 with an increase in length and height of the body along with and extended roof line. The Cobra Jet engine was introduced in 1968. The Boss model was released in 1969, offering a fresh style with a new Sports Roof and longer body and a Windsor V8 engine.

The Mustang was redesigned two inches longer and wider in 1971. The Boss models were discontinued due to government fuel regulations and the 351HO model was introduced in 1972. A smaller style was produced in 1973 (the ugliest Mustang in my opinion) and would be the last Mustang convertible for many years.

How The Mustang Took America By Storm

Muscle cars are considered as an all-American product that has survived the test of time. These gorgeous cars have been rolling along the streets of America since the 60s and if there's one muscle car that has received the pride and admiration from car enthusiasts all over the world, it was the Mustang.

It was in 1964 when Mustang was introduced by the Ford Motor Company. After just over a year, the company was able to sell over a million Mustangs and since then, this model was considered as the start of a new breed of sports car that would eventually be identified as ‘pony cars'.

Mustang was originally made in the early 60s as a two-seater muscle car and then, it was redesigned to a four-seater car, ideal for family use. This pony car immediately became an American icon and in fact, it is the only muscle car that has enjoyed continuous production for over 45 years. The Mustang has went through a lot of changes and now, it is in its 9th generation of development.

The launch of the Mustang is known as one of the most successful launches in the history of the automotive industry. This pony car offered the template for the upcoming class of cars and though Mustang was based on the Falcon's platform, it featured a unique body, which was offered as a convertible and a hardtop coupe. It also had a distinctive, short deck and long hood proportions. Basically, its form was mechanically mundane (with 3-speed manual transmission and 6-cylinder engine). Mustang also had a broad option list – Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, V8 engines, radios, power steering, air conditioning and other impressive accessories.

Mustang enjoys its long years of existence in the automotive industry because of its endurance and durability. Ford was able to retain the masculine look of the famous muscle car while giving the upscale designs and the savvy look of its other models.

If you are thinking of restoring an old Mustang, the parts are actually quite easy to find. Ford made it a point to manufacture a lot of spare parts for their crown jewel.

Shelby Cobra - The Greatest Muscle Car Ever Built

classic cars guru and muscle cars
The Shelby Cobra is an American vehicle that was famous for its power, boasting 800 horsepower. It was the ultimate sports car in its era and may have been one of the best designs in centuries.

Created to be the fastest and the meanest car around, this sports car created a sandstorm by hitting 0-60 miles per hour in just 3 seconds. Also sporting a V8 engine, what more could you ask for? Well, it did have its drawbacks, when it came to fuel efficiency as the V8 engine would soak up gas like a vacuum.

The Shelby Cobra was built with an automatic transmission instead of a manual one. If you were into all power and rubber, you would naturally choose the manual transmission, but this is what the Shelby was known for - great power and speed. What made the Shelby all the more enticing to car aficionados is its lightweight body. Compare it with the heavier Mustangs and the Shelby was much lighter.

In the latter part of the 60s, there were no imposed speed limits so most of the owners of the Shelby Cobra really enjoyed plowing through the asphalt as if there was no tomorrow. This truly was one of the most powerful cars you could buy at the time. However, new laws designed to protect the environment, rising gas prices, and higher insurance costs were the beginning of the end for all true muscle cars.

Today, If you mention the Shelby to any true muscle car fanatic, you will get an instant reaction of reverence and awe. I have yet to come across anyone who is knowledgeable about muscle cars, that has a bad word to say about it. This is why, in my opinion, this is indeed the best racing car of all time and no sports car built today can truly come close to touching it.

Muscle Cars: How to Rebuild and Modify Your Muscle Car

classic cars guru and muscle cars
After the World War II, muscle cars became an instant hit, as motorists and car buyers aimed to acquire vehicles that would showcase and show great power and speed. The term was basically a name description of what the car was to the industry.

Muscle cars were considered the instruments to bring back the glory and profitability of the global car industry. Muscle autos were hugely popular in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.

With the emergence of many other car brands and more superior car models, muscle cars are now nowhere in the map of global cars. However, there are still some of those vehicles that are in circulation within the market.

Those muscle cars are now considered novelty and collectors' items. If you happen to own one, it surely would be your interest to improve and revitalize the look and performance of your old car. Thus, you would certainly find ways on how you can rebuild and modify your muscle auto.

Here are some suggested procedures on how you can rebuild and revitalize the look and feel of your muscle autos. Take note that some auto detailing techniques may already be familiar to you, especially if you are into regular auto detailing.

1. Plan the restoration process ahead of time. Muscle cars are important and are sensitive cars. Any error or mistake on the rebuilding and auto detailing procedure could greatly harm and alter the overall appearance of the exterior of the car.

Thus, it would be advisable if you would do a research and ask experts on what to do right about your muscle auto. Make a simple list of things to do and do a checklist to serve as a guide as you do the rebuilding and modifying process.

2. Spend time and more effort rebuilding the body of the muscle cars. Pay particular attention to details. The overall body of the car should be given more care and proper treatment. Do you need to modify and do little changes at the engine and the overall system?

If you are not too familiar with it, just leave it to the experts. Just tell them what you want, what you aim and what you intend to do and let them do the rest.

3. Settle to do a major auto detailing. When the insides of the muscle autos are modified and improved, take time to do a major auto detailing process.

When you auto detail muscle cars, you aim to revamp and overhaul the total exterior and physical package of the vehicles. Repaint. Spend to repair damaged parts. Check the wheels. In no time, the muscle autos would look as awesome as new again.

4. To wrap things up, check the overall electrical system of the muscle autos. Pay attention to the electrical wirings responsible for the proper functioning of lights and horns. Make sure the battery is functioning well.

5. There is no need to change the overall physical appearance or the assembly of the body packaging, not unless you want to remodel your muscle autos. If you do so, your muscle cars would cease to be muscle cars and should be called through other names.

As your muscle cars take a new rejuvenation and look, always remember that muscle cars would not ever function like the modern powerful cars. During their time, muscle autos were the most powerful vehicles on the road.

A Muscle Car Will Always Be In A Man's Heart

classic cars guru and muscle cars
Any good red blooded American man loves his muscle car, and that is a trait that he will never lose. I have had a love for the muscle car since I was a young boy. The love has only grown stronger with age, you know the old saying, the only difference between a boy, and a man is the price of his toys.

Nothing could be more true, y if you love muscle cars as a kid, you more them likely will love them as an adult. The biggest difference it hat you now have the means to buy them, well hopefully. A muscle car will be in your heart forever.

As a kid you love the sound of a true muscle car, and you love the way that they look, but most of all you love the power if you get to ride in one as a kid. As an adult you want to buy a muscle car, and modify it to meet you idea of what it should be.

Usually as a man your looking for custom paint, and a super high performance engine. You don't really care how you achieve these two things either, as long as the car turns out the way that you think it should.

With the muscle car, most of us men have a preference as to what manufacture we like, I always loved the Chevrolet Camaro, but another man my love the Ford Mustang, or the Dodge Charger. It doesn't really matter as long as you love your muscle car.

We love the hot summer heights down on the main drag showing off our muscle cars. We love to win the race, and we love to cover the seat with the prettiest girls in town. But most of all it's about making our car be what we ant it to be, and perform the way that it should.

If we go out on a weekend and lose a race, you can bet that we are in the garage squeezing more power out of the muscle car. This is a constant battle, we add superchargers, nitrous, and fuel injection to make our muscle car win the race.

We love the huge obnoxious loppy camshaft that only we can stand to be around. We can't wait to add more power, or customize the paint a bit more. Yes we love to to show off our work of art. We try to create a car that we have never seen before, a true one of a kind masterpiece.

For most muscle car freaks, their muscle car is a feat which as never been accomplished by any other man, and can never be done again. They are special to us, they give us a sense of joy that nothing else can do, and we love them for it, nothing is quite like a muscle car.

There is no doubt that we can spend a lot of time making our muscle cars what we want them to be. But nothing else comes even close to the sense of satisfaction that we get from building a muscle car.

Tips For Buying A Muscle Car

classic cars guru and muscle cars
Muscle cars come in virtually all designs and sizes. That's what makes choosing a single car for purchase extremely difficult. It may even be trickier if you are not certain on the specific features you may want present in your car. These qualities may be the design, trim, or even the overall durability of the automobile. Since there are also several different muscle cars brands available on the market, your task of choosing a muscle car for your collection just keeps getting harder. So, it will really be an advantage to prepare yourself using the tips below to help you in picking your dream vehicle.

What's your style?

For some, the style or design of the muscle car is the primary thing to consider since it determines how classy and elegant a car is. However, it still depends on you if you want a more detailed and stylish muscle car.

Think about the engine.

The engine almost always determines whether you'll enjoy the car or not. With this, you need to take some time to think of the perfect engine that will power your car. V8 engines are the most common ones for muscle cars. Some of my particular favorites include the 426 Hemi and 427 Ford, which are both exceptionally powerful.

Also keep in mind that in general, the bigger the engine, the more gas it will require.

Price

Decide on a specific model that you want by studying the various features, size and price of some muscle car models available on the market. Some models, such as a fully restored 1969 Chevelle can cost upwards of $50,000 or more, while other models from the same year such as the Nova, can be had for half that amount.

You can also consider buying a "restoration model" and doing it yourself. Keep in mind this will require time, knowledge and money. Which means you should weigh the total cost of restoration against the cost of buying a fully restored muscle car.

Consider the availability of parts

In choosing a muscle car, you just need to take into account how easy the parts are to find for your specific model. Ford, MOPAR, Chevrolet and GM are just a few of the car dealers you might want to check out. You may base your pick according to the available designs of the company or their product's well-known durability. In general, muscle cars form Ford and Chevrolet should be your main options. These brands' interior pieces are quite common and affordable.
