Drive Carefully

Like I was saying on Wednesday. People doing stupid things in cars will be an endless topic of conversation. This one needs no explanation...

Aspiring Auto Mechanic?

With the growing technical aspects of the ever increasingly complex systems contained in automotive applications, "Mechanic" is a dying term. Many new recruits to this field are now considered "Technicians". My feeling is that this trend will continue. Cars and trucks are increasingly just mobile computer networks connected to and engine and four wheels. The Auto Tech of the future will need to be fully vested in computer diagnostic techniques and the larger diagnostic systems that will help them find issues. As such, I feel that pay rates will be rising for good, intelligent and well qualified candidates. Check out this site for possible schools that might help place you into this category.

P.S. Don't let pre-conceived ideas of what a car mechanic was in the past, cloud your vision to the potential income of this coming "High Tech" job.

Bring Your Own Parts

Of course you know my position on bringing your own auto parts. This is a growing trend (war in some places) that I believe will continue to grow. These people have done what a good politician will do... See an inevitable change and jump out in front to claim it as your own. Hey, there is nothing wrong with that. I am just jealous they got there before me. Before long I can imagine our Autopartstomorrow.com parts showing up at their store to be installed. Innovation is the American way, good for them!!

Damaged in Transit

At Autopartstomorrow we pride ourselves in how well we handle packages for our customers. It is after all what we do for a living. Yes we sell auto parts, but our main focus is that we are a "Warehouse Distributor". Meaning we check auto parts into our warehouse from the manufacturer, then we distribute those auto parts to our customers.

One thing we don't have any control of however is the shipping service after it leaves our dock. If UPS or FedEx crushes a box, it becomes a problem for all of us. If you find yourself with this issue, please call us or use our online returns process and just explain what happenned. Unfortunatley we have dealt with it before, and we will deal with it in the future. Howevr, we will do everything in our power to make sure you are taken care of as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Are You on Twitter?

I have mentioned it before, but it bears repeating; Check us out on Twitter! What the heck is Twitter you say? Twitter is a new social media tool that is being used in many widely varied ways. At first blush it kind of seems like a huge crowd of people all trying to get your attention. If you can work through that initial overload shock there are some ways where it begins to make sense.

The "ONE" method I will mention here is for using Twitter as a news or rumor search engine. Instead of reading the canned publications news reporting, sometimes it is very interesting to see what the vast Twitterherd of people think. By using some basic commands you can dive into this huge traffic jam of thoughts and pull out just the pieces you would like. This article does a great job of explaining how all of this works... and includes an enlarged version of this search cheat sheet chart.

As for Autopartstomorrow on Twitter, you will find us by searching @autopartstom and @aptomorrow. It is a great venue for our coupon codes and we list them there quite often. Please visit and follow us there, and we promise to keep you informed about our industry and throw in added savings ideas from time to time (Here is a hint- Check it out on the last few days of the month).

Follow Us on Twitter

I have heard Twitter described as standing in the middle of a huge traffic jam trying to hand out business cards! To the newbies out there, it does kind of seem like that. In order to increase your following numbers it becomes necessary to follow people that don't really fall into your exact category or niche. The cool thing about our company is that almost everyone has a car, so even the butterfly aficianado from New Mexico still might need an air filter for her Subaru.

One secret that I have found to fine tune our promotions is the LIST function. As your following grows it becomes neccessary to separate followers into sub-groups. I have begun the process, creating automotive, classic cars, etc., but I see that I will eventually need to refine it even more. I have even created three separate accounts, @bradcatron , @autopartstom and @carpartscoupon so that my communications make more sense.

Sometimes it is even helpful for things like this months discount coupon code. I can Tweet from all three that you can get an extra 5% on top of our volume discount on top of our already wholesale prices by using COUPON CODE 5472052c (and now it is on my blog and will also post to Facebook).

I really enjoy promoting Autopartstomorrow.com because I have been here for 15 years and really like the people you will be dealing with. I also have done enough research to know that we are KILLING the competition on price, before volume discounts, and before the coupon code 5472052c (see how I mentioned that again). Anyway, do yourself a favor... Like Us on Facebook and Follow all of our accounts on Twitter so that you always know as soon as we release any new Coupon Codes. Helping you save money is my job... Make me look good!
