An Environmentally Friendly Concept Car

The BMW i18 concept car is designed for optimum performance and a look that won't soon be forgotten. The sporty exterior is complemented by a powerful engine that provides longer driving range and better mileage. With this vehicle, BMW has truly brought the future to today with forward-thinking and a fresh perspective on engineering. It combines convenience, comfort, and power with a more environmentally-friendly system that is so much in demand.

A plug-in hybrid combines the enhanced electric drive system armed with a high-performing three-cylinder combustion engine that produces 164 kW and 221 lb-ft of torque at the rear. The electric motor uses is a full-capability unit which alone can provide enough power for driving the whole car. The combination of these engines delivers top performance which is preferred in sports car, but with the fuel consumption of a small car; increasing fuel efficiency every single time.

The BMW i8 is not merely a sports car. With its four-seat capacity and high fuel efficiency, it is very practical to use in a daily basis. In a glance, the car creates an impression of power with its dynamic proportions. It has a surging forward appearance that makes it look always ready to go even when the wheels have not turned yet. It puts another contemporary sports car impression in its upward- swiveling doors fixed to the A- pillars. With its style, the principle of aerodynamics is harnessed, allowing the surrounding air to flow through and around the car.

The LifeDrive Concept of the i8 makes it lighter, as stronger and lightweight materials are used for most of its parts. CFRP (carbon fibre-reinforced plastic) is especially suited to automotive design due to its high strength-to-weight ratio, good rigidity, rustproof quality and high tolerance to potential damage. LifeDrive refers to "two horizontally separated, independent modules" of the car, the "drive module" and the passenger "life module". The whole design concept makes the car light, safe, and easy to maneuver in varying conditions.

This innovative design combines a unique structure with high-performance materials for a forward-looking automobile that maximizes safety and efficiency. Concentrating on both driveability and fuel conservation, the BMW i8 concept is ideal for all types of driving. Whether you're navigating busy city streets or cruising along open stretches of highway, you'll be sure to enjoy the ride. Inside, the same spacious and convenient atmosphere is maintained. Neither safety nor comfort is compromised.

Audi A2: Concept Car of the Future

With an elegant, sporty, and sophisticated look, the Audi A2 Concept says a great deal about automotive innovation even with just a single glance. It has a detailed exterior that speaks much of its functionality and high level of quality that modern car users look for in conventional cars. Even in its stationary status, one can easily tell that this is no ordinary car. Its overall look creates an impression of high- level automotive efficiency that topples down most conventional cars in every aspect of the unit.

Engine and Power

Another innovative feature is the electric-only powertrain. The development of electric mobility in the current automotive industry is seen to influence much the future of the whole car mobility technology. Electric mobility, in itself, presents its own set of advantages and disadvantages; especially when compared to conventional car engines. However, the overall performance is noiseless, smoother, and carries enough power for a satisfying drive. Moreover, this electric- only power source make the car environmental- friendly.

Exterior

The power and elegance of this concept car can easily be spotted at first glance. With a high- level of elegance, this concept car manages to combine simplicity and grandeur. It has a clean appearance and a neat finish intensified by its dark glass roof. The most noticeable feature in this concept car is its matrix beam, using the next step in LED technology. This produces a high- resolution but non- glaring high beam light. The exterior lightings of the A2 concept are amazing, as it adapts to the visibility conditions of the environment. The intelligent tail light become more visible as visibility drops, while the rear fog light powered by laser diodes does not only serve as a fog light but also projects a red triangle that serves as road warning.

Aside from the superb beam lighting feature, this vehicle sports a chic appearance. It only measures 3.80 meters long, 1.69 meters wide and 1.49 meters high.

Interior

The inside of the vehicle compliments its exterior nicely. It has a flat interior floorboard, and a center console connected to the driver's seat. The front part has enough space to allow sufficient mobility while inside the car with extra spaces under the cushion seats. The four seats add lightness, instead of crowding up inside the car. Even the colors and materials used in the car's interior showcase functionality and lightness, making long drives a lot more comfortable.

Clifford Concept 650 MK2 - Superior Car Security

For outstanding car security, the Clifford Concept 650 Mk2 is all you need. It features a multifunction remote control, allowing the system to be controlled and adjusted from the palm of your hand. Silent arm and disarm, auxiliary output control, and sensor manipulation are all possible from the remote. Add to this anti-code grabbing technology and remote battery low alerts, and the result is a superb quality vehicle security system.

Clifford Car Alarm

The 650 Mk2 Clifford car alarm comes with two distinctive five button remotes. The first four buttons feature:

   1. Arm / Disarm
   2. Auxiliary output A - usually boot release
   3. Star button - remote start the engine if fitted
   4. Double star button - silent arm/disarm

Button one is self-explanatory, however if the system is wired up to the car's central locking system then this switch will also lock and unlock the car doors remotely. Button two is usually connected to the car boot release, if it is fitted with a motor and therefore capable. The star button activates engine remote start, if an extra remote start module is fitted. Button four can be used instead of button one for a silent arm and disarm function.

The remote control also features a fifth, and very distinctive Clifford "G5" button. When this button is used in combination with the first four buttons an extra set of functions are achieved. For example pressing G5 once followed by button two will activate Clifford SmartWindows if fitted. Pressing the G5 button twice gives another set of control functions including the ability to disable sensors and enter valet mode.

Clifford Sensor Adjustment from Remote Control

Unlike other alarm brands the Clifford 650 MkII has the ability to adjust sensors from the remote control. This means the proximity and warn-away sensors can be turned up or down by remote button combinations, and may be necessary to suit different customer needs or situations.

Remote sensor adjustment is activated by pressing the G5 button three times, followed by the single star button for proximity sensor fine tuning. To then adjust the warn-away sensor, the double star button is pressed. Sensitivity is increased by pressing button two and decreased by pressing button three in either mode.

Pressing button one will exit warn-away adjustment, and pressing button one again will exit sensor adjustment mode from the remote.

High Quality Vehicle Security

Clifford alarms are all round high quality vehicle security systems. For example all G5 remote devices feature Anti-Code Grabbing technology (ACG2) resulting in the generation of a random code encryption each time the remote transmitter is used.

Another quality feature is the remote low battery alert. With all these advanced functions available from the remote, it is easy to run down the cell battery. When this happens a low-pitched tone is heard on disarming the car alarm system.

Cool Concept Cars

Automotive companies generally release concept cars every year at numerous car show events. These autos are not for sale but only for display; many are futuristic and utilize outrageous design and incredible technology. Even though many may appear unrealistic; they give us a small peek into the future. Some companies even have contests where university students can submit their ideas and sketches. Building a concept vehicle is a great opportunity for a designer to really let loose and get extremely creative.

Many cars throughout automotive history were actually inspired by concept cars. For example, the General Motors Le Sabre is a concept vehicle that was also designed by Harley Earl in the nineteen fifties. It was used to introduce 12 volt electrics and an eight cylinder engine for General Motors. Concept cars are generally outrageous but some of their more usable features are generally incorporated in autos that are made available to the public.
Did you know that the Corvette was actually inspired by a concept car? The idea came from a concept auto called the Chevrolet Corvair Monza back in the 60's. This may seem a bit crazy nowadays, but Ford actually had a concept vehicle that was based on nuclear power; the Nucleon. We all became familiar with the Pontiac Bonneville as a family car, but the name first appeared on Pontiac's first two-seater concept showcased in 1954 called the Pontiac Bonneville Special. Mini vans are now everywhere but they used to be unheard of back in the seventies; the first mini van was also prototype back in the 70's; it was called the Lancia Megagamma.

Currently the trend appears to be vehicles that can serve more than one purpose. This can be seen in the Bugatti Altess Concept car. What's different about this auto is that it's not only a tourer but also a racer; it combines the best of both worlds. It's almost like a real-life Transformers car; just a few quick fixes and it turns from a tourer to a hot rod!
Many designers are also focusing on cars produced for the city. Many futuristic city cars are made to be super small and efficient. Citroen is showcasing its E-3Pod Antistatic concept, another three-wheel electric car created by a student designer. It seats only the driver who is situated in the third wheel and features two smaller wheels at the front. As you can see, many current cars were actually inspired by concept cars. If you want a glimpse into the future, all you need to do is attend one of the big international auto shows. Who knows, perhaps one of the cars you'll see there might end up becoming a common sight on the roads twenty years from now. You'll never know!

Magna Steyr Mila Aerolight Concept

Car-2011-Magna-MILA-Aerolight-Concept
Magna Steyr has presented the current ongoing Geneva Motor Show 2011 (which will close its doors Sunday), its futuristic concept car, the Mila Aerolight, car segment with 4 seats and extremely lightweight, in fact, the compact house Magna Steyr weighs only 700 kg. Mila Aerolight has a frame made of aluminum alloy and composite materials, while the bodywork was made of heat resistant plastic materials, while ensuring the highest quality standards in terms of safety.

The engine that drives this Aerolight Mila Concept is a cylinder of 800 cubic centimeters powered by methane, can develop a maximum power of 54 hp and a peak torque of 70 Nm, also thanks to its light weight, the concept car Magna Steyr is the house that can hold CO2 emissions to below 55 g / km.
The fuel tank is integrated into a central tunnel, with a capacity of 55 liters, and is able to provide a range of 400 km. In our opinion, very attractive design, with mirrors and minimalist grids input / extraction style racing, as well as two-color alloy rims. Very beautiful and also key the headlights.
