Old Inventions

I have often wondered how many "old" inventions might be more viable in today's economy. When someone comes up with a great idea, the work has only just begun. Many times, the person who came up with the idea is unable to find any funding to put the invention to work. Sometimes the item is created but the market is not ready to embrace it and it falls by the wayside. This is just an idea, but an entrepreneur could probably make good money by delving into the stacks of expiring patents at the patent office, and choose a few of them to "retry".
